The façade of a bar in the Brussels municipality of Anderlecht was shot at on Monday night. The establishment was located just a stone's throw away from the local police station.
The shooting took place shortly after midnight on Monday. A dozen shots were fired at the façade of the Les Palmiers bar on Square des Vétérans Coloniaux in the Scheut district, Het Laatste Nieuws reported.
"Earlier, a scuffle had reportedly occurred in the café," said spokesperson for the local Brussels Midi police zone (Anderlecht/Saint-Gilles/Forest), Sarah Frederickx. Afterwards, two people were found at another location with minor injuries, but these were not caused by a firearm.
As the incident took place just 100 metres from the local police station, officers were quick to arrive at the scene.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Whether the two injured people were involved in the shooting is unclear.
