Minister of the Interior Bernard Quintin, will hold a meeting on Monday at 11:30 with the federal police and the Interior Ministry following the events of the past two weeks related to drug trafficking in Brussels.

The meeting aims to strengthen the federal judicial police as outlined in the government agreement and to provide additional support to Brussels police forces on the ground.

“The goal is twofold: to protect citizens in the short term and to quickly bolster the federal judicial police to combat organised crime and drug trafficking,” explained the minister’s office.

A 19-year-old man was shot dead on Saturday evening as he entered the Clémenceau metro station in Anderlecht. He was likely the victim of a drug trafficking-related settlement.
