Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed readiness on Sunday to step down from his position in exchange for Ukraine’s membership in NATO.
At a press conference in Kyiv, Zelenskyy stated, “If you really need me to leave my post, I am ready.” He further mentioned, “I can trade the presidency for NATO membership.”
This comes amid growing tensions between Kyiv and U.S. President Donald Trump, who labelled Zelenskyy a “dictator” earlier this week.
Washington appears to oppose Ukraine’s integration into NATO.
