The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has agreed to release an additional $400 million for Ukraine, raising total support to that country to more than $10 billion.
The agreement was announced during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to US President Donald Trump at the White House, which turned into a heated argument.
With this new funding, the IMF will have provided $10.1 billion to Ukraine out of a total $15.5 billion included in a four-year aid plan.
“Ukraine’s performance remains solid despite challenging circumstances,” the IMF stated. “However, the outlook remains highly uncertain as the war continues to take a severe toll on the population, economy, and infrastructure of Ukraine.”
