For the third consecutive day, authorities in Balen are searching for the body of Heidi De Schepper, who disappeared in 2010.

The search on Sunday is concentrated around the industrial area near Poeierstraat, a location reportedly indicated on a map by suspect Nick Geys (33).

Geys allegedly confessed to killing De Schepper, claiming he did so on the orders of Nick M. (55), the victim’s then-partner. Both men, alongside a third suspect (39), have been arrested on suspicion of murder. They are set to appear before the court in Turnhout on Tuesday.

In 2013, Geys was sentenced to 23 years in prison for the murder of a friend, whom he killed with an axe in 2011. The murder of De Schepper is believed to have occurred earlier. Geys was released early a few years ago.
