UZ Brussel Hospital launched an app on Wednesday to support patients with long Covid and chronic pain.
The Stimulus@home app offers modules on pain education, cognitive behavioural therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy to foster resilience and resistance.
Acceptance and commitment therapy helps patients accept both positive and negative experiences, identify personal values, and act accordingly, according to UZ Brussel.
The app aims to make patients more resilient and improve their quality of life simply and integrally within their care pathway. Access will be granted after a medical consultation.
The modules offered are designed for "home use", allowing patients to work on mental resilience and resistance at their own pace, alongside medical follow-up.
The initiative aims to give patients an active role in their recovery, helping them gradually resume daily activities and find a balance while managing chronic pain or long Covid.
