A manned NASA mission departed for the International Space Station (ISS) on Friday local time aboard a SpaceX spacecraft.

The mission aims to bring back US astronauts Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams, who have been stranded in space for nine months.

The Falcon 9 rocket was launched shortly after 7 p.m. local time (midnight on Friday to Saturday Belgian time) from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Four astronauts are on board the spacecraft.
