In celebration of Money Week, Febelfin, the banking federation, has launched the platform ‘Klasse bank’ to offer free financial education lessons to secondary schools.
The lessons will be delivered by bankers, Febelfin announced on Monday.
"Klasse bank acts as a matchmaker between bankers and schools, allowing bank employees to volunteer as guest lecturers and schools to book these sessions," said Febelfin. Schools can also find educational materials on the platform.
The financial sector continues to push new initiatives because the demand for more financial education is high while knowledge remains unfortunately low, according to Febelfin CEO Karel Baert.
Money Week will take place from 17 to 23 March and focuses on the importance of financial education. It is organised by Wikifin, an initiative of the Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA).
