Today, the battlefield is a must-see memorial site, drawing visitors from all over the world who wish to understand the stakes and events of this legendary confrontation.
On 28 and 29 June, come along for an unforgettable weekend to celebrate the 210th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo and relive one of the pivotal moments in European history.
Immerse yourself in the 19th century atmosphere and visit the bustling civil village, historical camps, and attend one of the two spectacular re-enactments featuring 2,000 soldiers, 100 horses, and 25 cannons. Be transported back in time to 1815 and experience the daily life of soldiers by visiting their respective camps at Napoleon’s Last Headquarters and the Hougoumont Farm.
You can also take part in civil and military activities in the camps (Napoleon’s HQ, Hougoumont Farm, and the Panorama esplanade).

Unique moment with Stéphane Bern
Feel the intensity of the conflict and witness dramatic re-enactments which are narrated by Stéphane Bern, the famous TV presenter and history enthusiast.
Bern is especially excited to take part in the event:
“I am very happy to come to the Waterloo Battlefield, a site steeped in history which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. During this incredible re-enactment, I will strive to deliver a faithful account of the events that took place here, blending anecdotes with emotion,” he stated.

Beyond the re-enactments, enjoy a full programme of activities:
Explore the historical camps: Step into the daily life of French and Allied soldiers by visiting their respective camps at Napoleon’s Last Headquarters and the Hougoumont Farm.
Join the activities: Take part in civilian and military animations at Napoleon’s HQ, Hougoumont, and on the Panorama esplanade.
Wander through the civil village: Meet 50 passionate artisans bringing old trades back to life. Meet the basket weaver, clog maker, rope maker, lacemaker, woodturner, potter, spinner, blacksmith, surgeon, and many more.
