An Austrian player successfully secured the record EuroMillions jackpot on Friday with the combination of numbers 10, 21, 30, 42, 45 and the stars 1 and 9.

The National Lottery and France’s Française des Jeux (FDJ) announced the win early Saturday morning on their websites, confirming the jackpot prize was €243 million.

Initially, various lotteries reported no winner from the Friday draw, indicating another chance to win on Tuesday during the next draw, but it later emerged a lucky winner had indeed been found.

This marks the first occasion since EuroMillions began in 2004 that such a large sum has been won. The prize for the next draw is significantly smaller at 17 €million.

The second largest jackpot of €240 million was also won in Austria in 2023. In Belgium, the highest amount ever won is €168 million, with 41 Belgian winners since 2005.
