Another shooting took place in the Brussels municipality of Anderlecht on Monday evening, with no injuries.
Several bullets hit the facade of a night shop, the local Brussels Midi police zone (Anderlecht/Saint-Gilles/Forest) reported on Tuesday morning.
Several shots were fired in the direction of the shop, which is said to be a known meeting place for dealers. After the shots were fired, some people fled from the spot on foot or by electric scooter, eyewitnesses told Bruzz.
"Our teams were notified shortly before midnight that a shooting incident allegedly took place on the Place du Conseil in Anderlecht," the police said. The square is located right in front of the Anderlecht town hall. "At the scene, our patrols found several bullet impacts in the facade of a shop."
Investigations to ascertain the exact circumstances of the events are ongoing. For now, no suspects have been arrested.
For several months, Anderlecht has been rocked by shootings, which have already resulted in deaths and injuries.
This is the second shooting on the Place du Conseil in less than two months. Violent incidents also occurred in nearby areas, such as Rue de la Clinique and Rue Ruysdael earlier this year.
The vast majority of these incidents are associated with a territorial dispute between several drug gangs.
