A person was fatally stabbed on Tuesday evening in Schaerbeek, as confirmed by the Brussels public prosecutor’s office following a report by Bruzz.

The details surrounding the incident remain unclear and are currently under investigation.

“Police were called last night around 22:34 for a stabbing on Louvain Road, near Dailly Square,” stated the prosecutor’s office spokesperson on Wednesday. “The victim has died. A judicial exclusion zone was established, and the prosecutor’s office was informed. The federal police laboratory attended the scene, and a forensic doctor was appointed.”

An investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances of the incident and identify any suspects. The prosecutor’s office has announced it will not make further comments to protect the investigation.

Two other stabbings occurred in the region during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday: one in Evere, where five suspects were arrested, and another on Boulevard du Midi in the city centre. Each incident resulted in one person being injured.
