Le Forem in Liège-Huy-Verviers, together with its partners, is organising a Job Day on 13 May at the Copeland company site in Welkenraedt, Liège Province, which will see nearly 200 jobs lost when production ceases at the end of May 2025.

Copeland, a manufacturer of sustainable climate solutions for heating, cooling, and refrigeration, will stop production at its Welkenraedt site by the end of May. This closure will result in nearly 200 job losses. To support workers in finding new employment and to meet the needs of employers in the industrial sector, the Forem in Liège-Huy-Verviers is collaborating with various partners to host a Job Day on 13 May at the Copeland premises.

The morning session is reserved for Copeland workers, while all job seekers can attend in the afternoon. Attendees will have the chance to apply to 27 companies active in the Liège province, including Faymonville, Kabelwerk, Unilin, Saint-Gobain, AE Valves, 3B Fibreglass, and Eloy.

“Electrician, electromechanic, industrial maintenance mechanic, machine tool operator-setter, and production worker are the profiles most in demand by these employers. Interested individuals can already view 75 job listings, encompassing 135 positions, by using the keyword JDWDT on the Forem website,” it was stated.

Additionally, the Forem is organising information sessions for those interested in industrial careers but lacking the necessary skills to apply.
