Train services will be completely suspended on the Ottignies-Brussels line this coming weekend (10-11 May).

This was announced by Infrabel on Thursday. The railway network operator will then continue work on doubling the railway line as part of the GEN project.

The aim is to complete the work before the two new tracks on the Watermaal-Terhulpen line are put into service on 15 June.

During the weekend of 24 and 25 May, traffic on that line will be limited to one track, which means that the timetable has been adjusted and some trains have been cancelled.

SNCB/NMBS is putting in place an alternative train service. During the weekend of 10 and 11 May, IC trains will be diverted via Leuven, with slightly longer journey times. Local trains will be replaced by buses between Ottignies and Brussels-Luxembourg.

Belgium's rail operator advises passengers to plan their journey in advance by consulting the journey planner on the SNCB/NMBS app or website.
