The Belgian Coast Walk will break a new attendance record on Saturday during its sixth edition, with 11,000 participants. Some 7,700 walkers took part last year.
Participants can choose between 10, 25, 42, 60 or 80 kilometre routes along the Belgian coast. The starting point varies depending on the distance, but the finish line is in Knokke-Heist for everyone.
Those registered for the Belgian Coast Walk will walk through dunes and forests, along the dykes, the port area and on the beach.
Ambitious walkers tackling the 80-kilometre route will set off at 04:30 from De Panne.
The 60-kilometre route starts in Nieuwpoort, the 42-kilometre route in Ostend and the 25-kilometre route in De Haan. The 10-kilometre walk is a loop starting and finishing in Knokke-Heist.
