The Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (Afsca) has withdrawn the “Al Shalan Sella Mazza Indien” basmati rice from sale due to excessive levels of MOAH, petroleum-origin hydrocarbons.
Afsca advises consumers not to consume this product and to return it to the point of purchase.
The affected rice is sold in various Belgian stores in 5-kilogram jute bags. These bags have the lot number 146/23/ALT and a minimum durability date of June 2027.
