A man and a woman were hospitalised on Friday after being found with stab wounds on Chaussée de Châtelet in Lodelinsart, Charleroi, Hainaut, the Charleroi prosecutor’s office confirmed on Saturday, following reports by several media outlets.
Police and emergency services arrived late Friday morning at a residence on Chaussée de Châtelet. They found the man and woman with stab wounds. Multiple reports indicated the woman had a throat injury and the man was injured in the abdomen. Both were taken to hospital for treatment.
The Charleroi prosecutor’s office announced that an investigating judge has been appointed for suspected attempted murder. “Extensive investigations are currently underway. Both individuals are in hospital, and the woman’s life is no longer in danger. We must wait for the interviews to clarify the circumstances.”
When contacted the day after the incident, the judicial authority stated that the investigating judge does not wish to provide further comments at this time.
