A 51-year-old worker died on Tuesday evening in an accident at the Port of Antwerp, the labour inspectorate said on Wednesday.
The victim was working at the PSA terminal when he was hit by a vehicle pulling a trailer. According to PSA, the accident took place at the PSA Breakbulk terminal, where steel and general cargo are handled.
The exact circumstances of the accident are under investigation, the labour inspectorate said.
According to initial reports, the collision occurred in a bend.
The Occupational Health and Safety Inspectorate has been called to the scene.
