A 62-year-old man was executed in the south-eastern US state of Florida on Thursday.
The man, Glen Rogers, was convicted for murdering a 34-year-old woman in 1995. He died at 18:16 local time (00:16 Friday Belgian time) by lethal injection, Florida prison authorities announced.
In 1995, Rogers murdered Tina Marie Cribbs, mother of two, whose body was found in a hotel room. He was convicted in the state of California in the same year for the rape and murder of 33-year-old Sandra Gallagher.
He was also suspected of other killings, including the murders of two women in the southern US states of Mississippi and Louisiana, .
His is the 16th execution this year in the United States.
