Polish voters began casting their ballots on Sunday at 7:00 local time in the first round of the presidential election, which is crucial for the future of the current pro-European government.

Rafal Trzaskowski, the pro-European Union Mayor of Warsaw, is the frontrunner, with approximately 30% of the vote intentions.

He is expected to face nationalist historian Karol Nawrocki, who has 25% support, in the second round scheduled for 1st June.
