The integrated police will conduct a safety awareness campaign from Wednesday to Friday specifically targeting vulnerable road users who travel on two wheels.
The campaign is aimed at raising awareness about the increased risk of accidents, especially if riders do not adhere to speed regulations or use appropriate safety gear.
The ‘2 Wheels’ campaign focuses on riders of motorcycles, bicycles and scooters (including electric ones), mopeds, and speed pedelecs. The number of serious injuries among these road users has been rising each year.
During campaign days, the federal road police will check if motorcyclists are wearing mandatory protective clothing. Local police zones will focus on other two-wheel users, ensuring that electric scooters have not been tampered with and that bicycles have the required equipment.
