The Brussels Correctional Court has scheduled the trial of Thomas Rorive, a former RTBF journalist accused of sexual assault, for 17 September at 9:00 am.

The case was opened after a former female colleague of Rorive filed a complaint alleging inappropriate behaviour during a staff event in October 2021 at Tour & Taxis in Brussels, leading to the jounalist’s dismissal.

Another woman also came forward, filing a complaint with similar allegations of sexual misconduct.

Several other women claimed they were sexually assaulted by Rorive, but their allegations will not be examined due to the statute of limitations.

On 5 November 2024, the investigating authorities determined there was enough evidence to send the former journalist to trial.

The accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The RTBF has also joined the case as a civil party.
