A 25-year-old woman from Antwerp has been arrested in Morocco in connection with a cocaine smuggling investigation.
The Federal Police has been investigating a shipment which was intercepted at the Port of Antwerp in April.
The woman, who worked as a planner at a container terminal, is suspected of being involved in an attempt to smuggle 2.3 tonnes of cocaine through the port.
The drugs were intercepted at quay 1700, and three suspected extractors were arrested at the time.
The arrest took place in the city of Fez last week, following an international warrant issued by an Antwerp investigating judge.
The woman is currently awaiting potential extradition to Belgium.
