Belgian GDP grew by 0.4% in the first quarter of 2025

Belgium’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.4% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the previous quarter, according to data released on Wednesday by the National Accounts Institute (NAI) and the National Bank of Belgium (NBB).

Year on year, GDP grew by 1.1%.

The industry sector’s value-added increased by 0.1% between the two quarters, while services saw a 0.4% rise, and construction grew by 0.9%.

Domestic employment increased by 0.3%, adding 16,400 jobs.

Compared to the corresponding period in 2024, the number of employed individuals rose by 30,600 (0.6%).
