BNP Paribas Fortis, Fintro, and Hello Bank! will lower the interest rates on their savings accounts from 1 June.
The base rate for Plus savings accounts will decrease from 0.25% to 0.15%, while the Loyalty bonus will drop from 1% to 0.80%.
For classic and PRO savings accounts, the base rate will now be 0.30%, down from 0.40%, while the loyalty bonus will remain unchanged at 0.20%.
“Deposits made before 1 June 2025 will retain the current base rate and loyalty bonus,” BNP Paribas Fortis stated. “From 1 June 2025, the new base rate will be effective immediately, and the updated Loyalty bonus rate will apply to new deposits and renewed 12-month loyalty periods from that date.”
This marks the third reduction in savings account rates since the start of the year, a trend also seen in other major banks operating in Belgium due to “market developments.”
