The Panamanian army has intercepted over a tonne of drugs, suspected to be cocaine, en route to the port of Antwerp, according to a press release from Panama’s Ministry of Public Security on Wednesday.
A total of 1,401 packages of drugs were seized in a port in the Central American country.
The shipment was distributed across 35 small suitcases within a container destined for India.
This year, the Panamanian army has confiscated nearly 26,000 packages of drugs in 52 operations throughout the country.
