Following Paris Saint-Germain’s Championship League final victory over Inter Milan, Paris saw several incidents on Saturday night as police detained 294 individuals.

Among the disturbances was the looting of a shoe store on the Champs-Elysées, with rioters also setting several cars on fire. The incidents escalated during the second half of the match, when PSG led 2-0, near the Porte de Saint-Cloud and the Arc de Triomphe.

Police deployed water cannons and attributed the disturbances to a “crowd with bad intentions.” By early evening, authorities had already arrested 59 people, “mainly for possession of firecracker bombs and flammable products.”

Approximately 5,400 officers and gendarmes were deployed throughout the Paris region.

PSG secured their first Champions League win in Munich on Saturday night, defeating Inter with a decisive 5-0 scoreline. The PSG players are set to celebrate their victory in the French capital today.
