A new protest against the war in Gaza is being organised on 15 June in Brussels by a coalition of associations, trade unions, and NGOs.
Nearly a month after the last demonstration, which gathered between 20,000 and 80,000 people in Brussels, a fresh action is scheduled for Sunday, 15 June. The organisers are urging Belgians to mobilise against "ongoing impunity and political inaction concerning the Gaza conflict".
Protesters are being encouraged to dress in red to form a human chain, symbolising a long overdue "crossed red line". This chain aims to send a strong visual and moral signal against "continuous violence towards civilians, famine, and the European governments’ hypocrisy of advocating human rights while averting their gaze on Gaza" say the organisers.
Led by around twenty organisations, the demonstration is backed by CNCD 11.11.11, Amnesty International, Mutualité Chrétienne, CSC, FGTB, and the Belgian-Palestinian Association.
