Belgium's Federal Police issued a call for witnesses on Tuesday in the ongoing search for the remains of Heidi De Schepper, a young woman who went missing in 2010 but whose disappearance was only reported in 2024.

Authorities are seeking anyone with additional information about possible excavation work or land alterations at the industrial site on Poeierstraat in Balen, Antwerp Province, dating back to 2010.

Individuals with relevant information are urged to contact the police via email at avisderecherche@police.belgium.eu or by calling 0800 30 300.

“The smallest detail could be vital in the search for Heidi De Schepper’s body,” noted law enforcement.

A new search operation was conducted on Monday in an unexplored area of Balen but did not yield any results.

Heidi De Schepper went missing in 2010, but her disappearance was not reported until last year when a judicial investigation was launched. Murder quickly became the primary theory.

Three suspects were arrested in February, including her former partner and a man previously convicted of murder. Two of the suspects have made partial confessions, which form the basis for the ongoing, although thus far unsuccessful, search efforts.
