Eight Mile Style, the music publisher and co-producer of numerous Eminem hits, has filed a lawsuit against Meta Platforms accusing it of copyright infringement, according to legal documents obtained by E! News and Bloomberg.
The publisher is seeking damages of $109 million (€95 million) from the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
Eight Mile Style alleges that Meta has infringed the copyright of 243 Eminem tracks through "unauthorised storage, reproduction, and exploitation" on its platforms.
Eight Mile Style highlights features like Reels and Original Audio on Meta’s apps, claiming they enable users to illegally access its music “without proper attribution or licensing.”
Meta declined to comment on the allegations when approached by Bloomberg.
