A firebomb exploded at the entrance of a block of flats on Edgard Casteleinstraat in Antwerp during the early hours of Friday morning.
The incident occurred around 12:45 am, and fortunately, no injuries were reported, according to local police who confirmed to the Belgian news agency Belga.
The bomb disposal unit, Sedee, and the forensic laboratory attended the scene.
"No suspects have been apprehended at this time," said Kim Bastiaens, a spokesperson for the local police.
"The investigation will need to uncover more details, and a connection to the drug underworld cannot be ruled out."
