British-Albanian pop star Dua Lipa has named a bookstore in Antwerp as "Indie bookshop of the month" as part of her new online book club 'Service95,' where she gives reading tips.

For some years now, Dua Lipa has had her own weekly lifestyle newsletter and website – called 'Service95' – where she gives tips on culture, travel and fashion, among other things. Under that brand, she launched her online book club a week ago. She will be sharing reading tips and recommending local independent bookshops.

Notably, her first "bookshop of the month" is an Antwerp store called 'De Groene Waterman.' On Instagram, she called it "a cosy spot in Antwerp that has been serving up alternative reads and magazines for nearly six decades, which means they really know what they are talking about."

"As a cooperative, they celebrate original, thought-provoking reads that spark ideas and conversations," she added.

The team at De Groene Waterman is "delighted" with the exceptional recognition. "A compliment is always nice, but one from such an unexpected source is even nicer," said Katrien Merckx, coordinator at De Groene Waterman. "This way, a different audience gets to hear our name as well."

Dua Lipa's choice of an Antwerp concept might not be entirely coincidental: the singer will be visiting the city this week, as she will be performing at the Sportpaleis venue three nights in a row.

"If she will come and pay a visit to the shop? I don't think so," said Merckx. "At least, we have not heard anything about that."

The singer's team sent the shop all kinds of stickers to make a 'Dua Lipa bookshelf' with recommendations. In its social media post, the singer also singled out some recommendations from the shop's employees.
