Five people were detained following a brawl at a popular event in Forrières, Wallonia, according to the Luxembourg Prosecutor’s Office on Monday.
The violent altercation occurred at the Pentecost dance which took place on Saturday night in the village of Forrières, part of the Nassogne commune. The incident reportedly involved several dozen people.
Local media on Sunday reported that the incident required assistance from the Semois-et-Lesse and Lesse-et-Somme police zones, in addition to the Famenne-Ardenne police.
The Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that five individuals were detained. One of the detainees allegedly used a knife and is now the subject of an arrest warrant request.
Several security officers sustained serious injuries during the incident, the Prosecutor’s Office added.
All detained individuals are already known to judicial authorities, according to the Luxembourg Prosecutor’s Office. An investigation is ongoing.
