Ageas stocks rise, taking the Bel20 index in tow

The Brussels stock exchange experienced a slight increase on Monday, with the Bel20 index closing 0.21% higher at 4,540.61 points amid limited trading.

Insurance company Ageas led the gains among index stocks, appreciating by 3.17% to finish at €58.60. This rise follows Bank of America’s decision to add Ageas to its buy list, raising the price target from €52 to €64. A recent deal in the UK has strengthened the group in the casualty insurance sector, enhancing its geographical diversity.

In the secondary market, Fountain saw a rise of 6.38%, closing at €1.50.

Conversely, Biopharmaceutical company UCB was the main loser among index stocks, declining by 1.38% to finish at €160.50.

In the secondary market, Ekopak, which manufactures durable, waterproof fabrics, fell by 1.76%, ending at €6.68.
