The European Startup Prize for Mobility (EUSP) awarded its 2025 honours last night at a high-profile ceremony in Rzeszów, Poland.
The event, which is under the patronage of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council and as an official event of the European Commission’s EU Industry Days, marked the culmination of the Prize’s 6th edition and brought together political leaders, investors, and innovators committed to shaping the future of sustainable transport.
The Brussels Times is the official media partner of EUSP. The ceremony was hosted at the Science and Technology Park “Aeropolis” and was live streamed via The Brussels Times.
With a strong presence from European institutions and corporate partners, the event featured keynote speeches from Younous Omarjee, Vice-President of the European Parliament; Teresa Czerwińska, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank; and Karima Delli, the Prize’s founder and MEP. They were joined by representatives from the European Commission, VNF, Europe’s Rail JU, and major industry players like Ayvens, Europcar Mobility Group, and Via ID.
The Top 10 Clean Mobility Startups for 2025
Ten startups from across Europe and beyond were awarded the title of "most promising clean mobility startups" of 2025. Each was selected from hundreds of applicants for their innovative approaches to sustainable transport and mobility:
- CelLife (Finland) offering fast battery diagnostics.
- Futurail (France-Germany), developing self-driving trains.
- Hive Power (Switzerland) for smart EV charging and energy aggregation.
- Laka (United Kingdom), offering a collective bike insurance.
- Loxo (Switzerland), presenting Level 4 autonomous driving
- Peregrine AI (Germany), making smart use of millions of cameras.
- Syntonym (Turkey), presenting anonymization technology that ensures privacy in camera-captured data
- The Tyre Collective (United Kingdom), capturing tyre emissions.
- Upstream (Israel), offering cloud-based cybersecurity solutions for connected vehicles.
- VoltR (France), manufacturing eco-designed lithium batteries.
These ten companies will now embark on a three-month acceleration programme with Via ID, with four of them receiving additional strategic support from the Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
Special Prizes Highlight Sectoral Excellence
In addition to the main awards, nine special prizes were presented to startups making outstanding contributions in niche mobility sectors:
- Tether (Spain) – EV Battery Care & Life Cycle, awarded by Ayvens
- Futurail (Germany) – Rail Mobility, awarded by Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking
- Nivel (Norway) – Shared Mobility & Travel Tech, awarded by Europcar Mobility Group
- Vaeridion (Germany) – Rural & Island Mobility, awarded by the European Parliament and Scale Ups by European Investment Bank
- EcoNautik (France) – Maritime Mobility, awarded by Prince Albert II of Monaco
- EX9 (France) - Female Entrepreneur, awarded by French Minister of Transport
- Input Soft (Ukraine) - Ukrainian Tech, awarded by the European Commissioner for Transport
- Roboat (Netherlands) - River Mobility, awarded by the French river mobility authority (NVF)
Each award recognised unique innovations addressing pressing environmental and mobility challenges across different geographies and transport modes.
Since its launch in 2018, the European Startup Prize for Mobility has established itself as a leading platform for sustainable transport innovation. Supported by the European Parliament, European Commission, EIB, and a coalition of public and private partners, the Prize aims to help strengthen Europe’s role in the global transition to cleaner, smarter mobility systems.
