A firefighter was injured while extinguishing a building fire in Rebecq overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday, according to the Brabant Wallon emergency zone.
His life is not in danger, as confirmed by the prosecutor’s spokesperson on Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters from Braine-l’Alleud, Nivelles, Tubize, and Wavre stations rushed to the scene shortly before midnight. The blaze erupted in buildings of an abandoned farm located along the Genette road in Rebecq for reasons yet unknown. During the operation, which lasted all night, one firefighter was slightly injured and was taken to a hospital in Soignies. Upon admission, his condition was stable.
The firefighting operation concluded on Wednesday morning at around 6:45. The Brabant Wallon prosecutor is awaiting an expert’s report, requested on Wednesday, to investigate the cause of the fire.
