A student who killed a teaching assistant at his school in Nogent, eastern France, on Tuesday told investigators he intended to attack “any supervisor.”
This was disclosed by Chaumont prosecutor Denis Devallois on Wednesday. Devallois also stated that the student did not show any signs of potential mental illness.
The 14-year-old student stabbed the 31-year-old teaching assistant with a knife during a bag search, French news agency AFP reported.
“The accused had no particular grudge against the victim, explaining that his actions were driven by a general disdain for the behaviour of female supervisors, whom he claimed treated students differently,” Devallois remarked.
The prosecutor noted that the 14-year-old student had admitted to committing the act but provided no further explanation. “He was detached and showed no remorse or sympathy for the victim,” Devallois added.
