On Saturday 2 August, Antwerp will once again host Museum Night, during which 20 museums will open their doors from 19:00 to 1:00, offering tours, workshops, and performances.

Each museum aims to captivate visitors with special activities during Museum Night. AMUZ features a performance by singer Romain Dayez, showcasing music that spans the borders of Gregorian, electronic, and classical genres. M HKA chooses a space with a projector displaying 2,500 stars on a giant dome, while the afterparty will be held at De Studio.

Although several museums in Antwerp are closed for renovations this year, they are still engaging with the event. The Vleeshuis opens its vacant offices to host illustrators like Nina Aerts, Auwnanas, and Niet Nu Laura, who will work live during the evening. The Rubens House invites visitors to the Ruben Garden, and the Museum Mayer van den Bergh will present part of their collection, accompanied by performances, at the Maagdenhuis.

“To me, Museum Night is the perfect opportunity to explore the city with friends, enjoying an evening full of culture and surprises,” says Lien Van de Kelder, Antwerp’s cultural alderwoman (Vooruit). “Cycling between 20 museums and cultural centres with the free Velo day pass and gaining entry everywhere with just one wristband is delightful. Our vibrant Antwerp culture sector truly shines on this night.”

Tickets for Museum Night are available at a pre-sale price of €20, or €15 for those under 26. Ticket sales begin on Thursday 26 June, and can be purchased via www.museumnacht.be. If visitors can’t see all they wish to on the night, their wristbands grant access to participating museums until 31 August.
