A free festival with a noble cause will take place this September in front of the Atomium in Brussels.

Show Up for Humanity is a “positive, celebratory event” organised by the Worried Citizens Association, which aims to use art and music to bring people together.

Organisers say they find the state of the world in 2025 to be “deeply worrying”, citing concerns about rising authoritarianism and the threat of climate change.

They explained: “Our mission is to inspire meaningful action by amplifying voices that advocate for a more just and sustainable world. We want to show up for a world where everyone gets a fair chance, where every person matters.

“We believe that when people gather, not just to protest but to dance, listen, and feel together, we can spark empathy, solidarity and humanity. And from there, change becomes possible.

“We also believe that the intertwining of music and global thought leaders will make this event more than just a festival.”

Headliners at the festival, which is scheduled to take place on 20 September, include singer Axelle Red, the group Daan, Sylvie Kreusch and Francisco Desir Schuster, all of whom will perform for free.

Alongside them, a host of other personalities - including comedian Elisabeth Lucie Baeten, actress Tine Embrechts and journalist Aster Nzeyimana – will take to the stage.

The initiative follows on from last year's 505-Concerten voor Menselijkheid in Antwerp.
