In response to a request from a Brussels investigative judge and prosecutor, the Federal Police issued a search notice on Tuesday for a suspect involved in an attempted murder that occurred last April in the capital and are also seeking two witnesses who saw the incident.
In the early hours of 14 April, an altercation between two individuals took place between Boulevard du Midi and Esplanade de l’Europe. The police report states that “one of the individuals returned with a piece of wood and violently struck the victim on the head multiple times.” The attacker was later captured on video with two others who appeared to be attempting to calm him.
The suspect is described as a man of average height with a slim build. He was wearing a black hooded puffer jacket, blue jeans, and black trainers, and was carrying a dark backpack and a roughly 70-centimetre moulded piece of wood, likely from furniture.
The first witness was dressed in a dark jacket with white stripes on the sleeves, a hoodie with a white hood, light grey jogging trousers, and dark trainers with white stripes on the sides.
The second witness wore a dark jacket, blue jeans, white trainers, and a dark cap and carried a large blue bag.
