As the trial of 47-year-old murder accused Julius G. got underway at the Tongeren Assize Court on Tuesday, the defendant's former wife, Lucie G. (44) described him as a very good person and a good father who did something without thinking on 30 July 2022.
On that date, the woman had a date with 25-year-old Kosovar Albion Terstena. However, the young man had only been sitting with Lucie in her kitchen in Bocholt, Limburg, for a few minutes when he was beaten to death by Julius.
“It was as if the devil had possessed Julius," Lucie told the court. "I had seen him angry before, but I had never seen him like that.”
After five or six blows to Albion’s head with a baseball bat, Julius turned on his ex-partner, who tried to ward off the blow with her left arm. She attempted to call the emergency services, but Julius tried to take her mobile phone.
He later threw the baseball bat in her direction, saying "Look what you’ve done," before driving off with their two youngest daughters in the back seat.
Lucie then called the emergency services for the badly beaten Albion, who was making a snoring sound on the kitchen floor. However, he later died from his wounds,
