The coastal areas are pleasantly busy this Saturday afternoon, but the massive crowds are yet to appear, according to several police zones.

Parking in central Oostende is already full, the police report. Visitors are advised to use peripheral parking areas, with LED signs directing them. The city centre remains accessible, though finding parking is challenging. This afternoon, it is expected to become busier as large groups of beachgoers arrive by train, with some having to stand; however, no incidents have been reported, and authorities do not anticipate closing any specific areas.

A similar situation is noted in Blankenberge. According to local police spokesperson Jan Maertens, “There is a pleasant crowd on the beach. Currently, it’s no busier than a typical beautiful summer day, and we don’t expect an overflow like on 1 May.”

Knokke was relatively quiet before midday, and the West Coast police zone, including Koksijde, De Panne, and Nieuwpoort, reports no unusual activity.

The crowd barometer remains largely green in most areas. Only Oostende and Middelkerke have some beaches marked orange, indicating high congestion levels.
