Russian drone and missile strikes on Kyiv and its surrounding region resulted in at least five deaths and around twenty injuries from Sunday night to Monday, according to Ukrainian authorities.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, located in the western part of the capital, an entire section of a multi-storey residential building was destroyed.

Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported on Telegram that four people lost their lives and ten were injured in this incident.

Additionally, one person died in strikes on Bila Tserkva, a locality south of Kyiv, which also left about ten people injured.

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine stated on Sunday that Russia is preparing new military operations in Europe, although he did not provide further details.

"We are witnessing more intellectual regression from the Russian command, and we have evidence that it is planning military operations in Europe," Zelensky announced on Telegram. He mentioned that he was briefed on the ongoing situation by Kyrylo Budanov, the head of Ukrainian intelligence services.

Zelensky further noted his intention to discuss the details of these potential Russian military actions with international partners.

"We will inform our partners of the findings discovered by our intelligence services," he wrote. "We are preparing joint defence decisions, particularly with the United Kingdom and the European Union."
