The Federal Public Service (FPS) Mobility is conducting a nationwide action day today (Monday) focused on passenger transport.
Inspectors are checking several hundred buses arriving at three popular tourist destinations at the start of the summer: Bellewaerde, Bobbejaanland, and Pairi Daiza.
This time of year sees numerous bus outings due to the summer and the end of the school year.
During the national action day, the FPS Mobility’s road control service will deploy around 20 inspectors to examine the buses. Inspectors will check the use of tachographs, compliance with driving and rest times, driving licences, compulsory training, and access to the profession and market.
Last year’s action highlighted the importance of raising awareness among drivers and employers about adhering to regulations, according to FPS Mobility.
The focus on driving and rest times is crucial for road safety.
This action day is part of a national action week dedicated to passenger transport.
