The Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms across the entire country on Wednesday.

Thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind are expected overnight. According to the RMI, various showers, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms, will move into the region. This series of showers could result in local rainfall accumulation exceeding 20 to 25 litres per square metre.

The warning is in effect for all provinces, starting from 00:00 on Wednesday and lasting until 18:00 on Thursday. A yellow warning indicates significant rainfall in a short period, with potential for strong gusts of wind and hailstones measuring one to two centimetres.

The final showers are expected to leave the country through the east by late Thursday afternoon.
