The Belgian Football Union (URBSFA) has reported a loss of just under €1.28 million in 2024, a significant improvement over the record loss of €10.93 million in 2023.
An initial estimate had suggested a potential loss of €6.57 million for 2024, but stringent cost-saving measures brought this down to €1.277 million.
The federation credits the improvement to the new leadership’s commitment to restoring financial stability through both immediate and structural reforms, highlighting substantial improvements in planning, control, and transparency.
According to CEO Peter Willems, URBSFA laid the foundations for a more robust future by terminating excessive contracts, making difficult yet necessary decisions, and closely collaborating with regional football federations ACFF and Voetbal Vlaanderen.
