The next Car-Free Sunday in the Belgian capital will take place on 21 September, Brussels Mobility announced on Monday.

The event will conclude Mobility Week, which this year focuses on the theme of 'Mobility for all.'

This theme highlights the importance of making transport solutions inclusive, accessible, and affordable for everyone, regardless of income, gender, or physical ability. The goal is to promote sustainable transport that meets everyone’s needs, the administration stated in a press release.

On the first day of autumn, the Belgian capital is expected to have minimal car traffic between 9:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Those who absolutely need to use their vehicle on that day are encouraged to apply for an exemption by 17 September at the latest. Residents of Brussels should apply to their local municipality, while visitors from outside the capital should apply to their destination’s local authority.
