A woman (67) died on the beach in Middelkerke on Tuesday morning after collapsing, the Bruges division of the West Flanders Public Prosecutor's Office reported. It is unclear whether the heat played a role in her death.
The woman was on Middelkerke beach, near the casino, on Tuesday morning around 10:30. The victim suddenly collapsed at the water's edge. Emergency services arrived at the scene, but were unable to respond.
According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, everything indicates that she died of natural causes. No expert has been appointed to investigate the precise circumstances of her death.
