Several flights to and from Italy were cancelled at Brussels Airport due to strikes by ground staff and Italian crew members of low-cost airline EasyJet.
The 24-hour strike was called to demand higher wages and better working conditions. Milan, Venice, Naples and Cagliari airports are particularly affected.
The Italian airline ITA has had to cancel 35 flights scheduled for Thursday. At Brussels Airport, six flights have been cancelled: two to Milan, two from Milan, one to Venice and one from Venice.
Italian aviation regulations stipulate that flights departing between 07:00 and 10:00 and between 18:00 and 21:00 are guaranteed to minimise disruption to passengers.
