Saudi Arabia has executed over 100 foreigners so far this year

Saudi Arabia executed two Ethiopian nationals for drug trafficking this week, bringing the total number of foreigners executed in the kingdom this year to at least 101, according to a count by French news agency AFP.

The executed individuals, Khalil Qasim Mohammed Omar and Murad Yaqoub Adam Siyo, were found guilty of smuggling cannabis, the Saudi Press Agency reported, citing the Ministry of the Interior.

Since the start of 2025, a total of 189 people have been executed, including 88 Saudis, according to AFP.

In 2024, executions of foreigners in the Gulf kingdom topped the 100 mark only in November,

Last year, at least 338 people were executed, up from 170 in 2023, surpassing the previous high of 196 in 2022, based on past AFP records.
